When we first arrived, Gordon picked us up and showed us how driving is really supposed to be done. Seriously...if you have bad nerves or a bad heart, don't get in the car while he's in the driver's seat...wicked! After hangin' out for a while at Gordon and Trina's place, we grabbed a bite to eat and headed over to The Sanctuary nightclub for our first performance of the weekend. We performed our new number (for only the second time) and then got a chance to do some hot social dancing with the crowd there. We slept in on Saturday and then eventually woke up to teach our workshops at 3pm. We started off with some footwork/styling, moved into some twisted partnerwork, and finally taught a choreography class that had a special bonus that came along with it (more below). Thanks to everyone who came out for the classes! Later that night, it was finally time for the main event...The Salsa Swim! Held at the beautiful Take Hold Ballroom, the place was packed to the max with awesome salseros. There were a few performances, after which we closed the show with our first routine, "Snap". The next day was the Salsa vs. Mambo soccer match...but due to a few mishaps, we arrived just as the game was ending. Luckily, a bunch of the ATL salseros were still around, so we all went to eat at Bahama Breeze, a fabulous restaurant! All in all, it was a very crazy and exciting weekend! Thanks to all of the ATL dancers for showing us "Chicagoans" a good time! For more information about Atlanta's salsa scene, please click here to visit SalsaATL's web site. Photos
